The Learning

My first official music video. This one serves to showcase my skills as an MC. No hook, nothin fancy- just 70 bars of raw hip-hop over a classic Havoc instrumental. I'm finishing up my mixtape right now, but I didn't think it was fair to leave you all hangin' in the meantime. I'm real excited about how it's coming together. I've got a HUGE new track with Pastime, who I last linked up with for Summer Daze, as well as a few other surprises. Hope everything's good on your end. I'll be checking back in real soon.

Special thanks to my buddy Mark for taking time out of his busy schedule to film with me. Check out some of his photography & design work here.

Got That (Preview)

After the success of Summer Daze, Pastime & I were amped to get back in the lab together. He'd been e-mailing me beats, and I was writing to 'em as quick as he could get 'em to me. Real life has a way of getting in the way of studio time though, so we had to make the most out of it whenever our schedules managed to line up. This was one of those times. I was on my way back from a weekend in Maine & caught up with him betweeen there and Boston. I didn't have any of my lyrics with me, but luckily my mind is a steel fuckin' trap. After a couple round of rehearsal, I pieced together my bars. This is one of those practice rounds.

Shine (Preview)

I was kickin some brews at my boy Lee's place one night, and after gettin my ass handed to me at 2k something or other the subject turned to Uncle Sam. Lee had shown me this Alchemist beat a little while before. He didn't know of anyone successfully rapping over it, so I took that as a challenge and went to work. He had heard pieces before this night, but I had tightened it up a lot since. So we're hypin this track all up, but my buddy Stew has no idea what we're talkin about. So I had to let him know. He managed to get part of it on tape. You'll hear the full thing soon enough, though.

Live From Interstate 40 (NC)

I was driving around North Carolina in a rented Chrysler Sebring, when my co-pilot, Colin, let me know he hadn't heard one of my new songs yet. That obviously had to be fixed. Only problem was, I didn't even have it on the ipod yet. I did have the instrumental though. So I fired that up and hit him with some truth. He managed to capture it with what was left of his iphone battery, so luckily I one-taked it. Yes, the video quality is awful. No, there's nothing I can do about it.
